Service Description
The Youth Mindfulness Kids Program is an 8-week, classroom based introduction to mindfulness suitable for 7-11 year-olds. The course introduces mindfulness in a way that is engaging, relevant, and enjoyable, making use of music, games, activities, experiments, videos, songs and group discussion to deliver fundamental ideas as well as teaching mindfulness practices such as mindfulness of breathing and the cultivation of kindness and compassion. The Youth mindfulness program is suitable for a classroom environment and links directly to the Curriculum for Excellence at Early Level through to Level Four and can support children to develop understanding of attention, self-control, self-awareness, emotional regulation, gratitude, self-kindness and kindness to others.
